Interment Hours & Requirements

The Seeley Swan Cemetery staff must have the following advance notification to prepare grounds for interments. This notification time may vary dependent on grave location, ground conditions and weather. It is the responsibility of the funeral director or other designated representative in charge of interment arrangements to contact and verify the correct time for the interment. These notification hours are adhered to year round, however, the Seeley Swan Cemetery Sexton or designated representative has the authority to make adjustments to better serve the public.

The Seeley Swan Cemetery  schedules services between the hours of 8:30 am and 3:30 pm with all services concluded by 4 pm. The hour for the interment services must be arranged so that the grave or niche may be properly closed and all surplus ground removed by 4:30 pm.

An interment requires at least two cemetery working days advance notice for preparation from the time the Seeley Swan Cemetery receives the following information:

• Grave location
• Interment type (Casket or Cremation)
• Date and time requested for interment

An interment requires at least four cemetery working days advance notice for preparation from the time the Seeley Swan Cemetery receives the following information:

• Grave location
• Interment type (Casket or Cremation)
• Date and time requested for interment

Interments are not scheduled on Saturday or Sunday.

Holidays are non-working hours and there will be no interments on holidays.

Upon notification from the funeral director or family representative, the Seeley Swan Cemetery shall assess the ground conditions for the requested grave location, date and time of the interment. The cemetery shall ensure ground preparation or alert the funeral director of any issues that may prevent the grave preparation by the requested date and time. Issues that could affect ground preparation my include but are not limited to: frozen ground in the winter, tree locations, over-sized monuments, soil conditions or any unforeseen ground conditions.
